Rameel Sheikh, Owner at Houston Sign Crafters

Who you'll talk to

A real sign maker picks up. Not a call center.

Most days that's Rameel Sheikh, our owner, who answers most of the calls himself. No phone tree, no overseas script, no “let me transfer you.” You tell us what you've got, and we tell you straight: what'll work, what it'll run, and how fast we can get it up.

We're a Houston shop. The same people who quote your job design it, build it, and climb the ladder on install day. That's on purpose.

What you actually get

Every project includes the whole thing, start to finish.

  1. 01

    A real design mockup

Your sign rendered on a photo of your actual building. You see it before you commit to anything.

  2. 02

    UL-certified fabrication

Built in our Houston shop with weather-rated materials and LEDs made to take the Gulf Coast heat.

  3. 03

    Permits, handled

We pull the city permits and check your landlord's sign criteria so it passes inspection the first time.

  4. 04

    Licensed installation

Our own crew mounts it, wires it, and cleans up. No subcontractor roulette.

  5. 05

    A 5-year warranty

Materials and workmanship, lighting included. If something fails, you call the people who built it.

Real talk

What does a sign cost?

Straight answer: channel letters typically run $1,500–$10,000+ installed, monuments $6,000–$50,000+. Every range is published on our pricing page. What moves your project inside the range:

  • How big it is and how many letters
  • Lit or not, and how it's lit (front-lit, halo, etc.)
  • How it mounts to your building
  • Whether it needs a permit or engineering

Here's how we actually do it: send a photo of your storefront and a rough size. We pull up your address, factor in permitting and installation, and email you an itemized quote, usually within one business day. No “come in for a consultation,” no runaround.

Most “sign companies” send the work out. We don't.

A lot of shops are really just middlemen. They take your logo, email it to a wholesale factory a few states away, and show up weeks later to bolt on whatever comes off the truck.

We're an actual shop. The cutting, welding, wiring, painting, and printing all happen here in Houston, done by the same people who answer your call and climb the ladder on install day. If something's off, there's nobody to point at but us. That's the point.

Start to finish

How a sign gets made

No mystery, no runaround. Here's the whole thing.

  1. 01

    Send us what you've got

A photo of your storefront and your logo is enough to start. We'll tell you what'll work, and what the city and your landlord will let you put up.

  2. 02

    We mock it up

You see the sign on your own building before we cut a thing. Hate it? Change it. It's just pixels at this stage.

  3. 03

We build it & permit it

Fabrication starts in our shop while we handle the City paperwork. No surprise “that's not to code” after the money's spent.

  4. 04

    We put it up

Our licensed crew installs it, wires it, and makes sure it passes inspection. Then it's yours, warrantied for five years.

Ray was incredibly helpful since the first call. He understood the issues we had with another company and supported us all the way. Also, the team that came to install it was very efficient & quick… we love our exterior sign!

Questions we get a lot

How much do custom signs cost in Houston?

It depends on the sign type, size, lighting, and installation, so we give every customer a firm written quote rather than a vague range. Send us your storefront photo and rough dimensions and we'll get a detailed quote back to you within one business day, including permitting and installation, with no surprise fees.

Do you handle sign permits in Houston?

Yes. We pull City of Houston sign permits and confirm your sign meets local code and your landlord's criteria before we fabricate anything, so your installation passes inspection the first time. Permitting is included as part of your project.

How long does it take to get a sign made?

Most projects run a few weeks from approved design to installation, depending on the sign type and permit turnaround. Banners and simpler signs are faster. If you have a hard deadline like a grand opening, tell us up front and we'll be honest about whether we can hit it. We offer rush options where possible.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. Every sign we build is backed by a 5-year warranty on materials and workmanship, including LED lighting on illuminated signs.

What areas around Houston do you serve?

We're based in Houston and serve the whole metro, including Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Cypress, Pearland, Spring, Pasadena, and surrounding communities. If you're not sure whether we cover your area, just ask. We likely do.

Do you design, build, and install signs in-house?

Yes. We handle the entire process under one roof: design and mockups, UL-certified fabrication, permitting, and licensed installation. You work with one team from your first quote to the finished, installed sign.

Who actually shows up to do the work?

Our own crew, the same people who build your sign in our Houston shop. We don't hand your job off to a wholesale factory in another state or a random subcontractor. When you call, you talk to a real person who makes signs, and when we install, it's our licensed crew on the ladder.

Got a wall that needs a sign?

Send a photo and a rough size. You'll have a real quote in your inbox within one business day. An actual number, not a runaround.

We only take a handful of new installs a week. Get your spot.
